It's there when you need it and not when you don't. The Cassette Liftgate mounts below the van, giving full access to the back of the vehicle without using the lift. These models are ideal for operators who need the functionality of a liftgate when interior storage space and access are a priority. The platform is made of corrosion-resistant aluminum, and all models include an automatic retention ramp, underside skid plate, and one-touch storage.
Cassette Liftgate Features:
Minimal Footprint/ Out of the Way Storage: It takes up no space inside the van and does not obstruct the back door, giving operators full access to the vehicle and only deploying the liftgate when needed.
Underside Skid Plate: Every Cassette Liftgate includes a standard galvanized, under-mount skid plate, which provides additional protection when driving the vehicle.
4-Function Pendant Control: 10-foot, four-function corded pendant control with socket to be used inside the van.
One-Touch Storage: When you're ready to stow the liftgate, simply fold the platform and press a button for easy storage.
Aluminum Bridge: Aluminum bridge mounts provide a smooth transition for moving cargo to and from the lift platform to the vehicle bed.
Automatic Retnetion Ramp/Taper: The retention ramp will automatically deploy to a taper once the liftgate hits the ground. The taper changes back to a retention ramp as the liftgate raises, making it favorable for wheeled cargo.
Manual Hand Pump: In the event that the liftgate does not operate, a Hand Pump Bar is provided to use with the manual valve on the pump and motor to manually raise and lower the liftgate.

Woodbine Manufacturing Company is the developer of Tommy Gate, a premier brand of private, commercial, and industrial hydraulic lifts. Established in Woodbine, Iowa in 1965 by Delbert "Bus" Brown, Tommy Gate has experienced steady growth in each of the past five decades and is widely acknowledged as a leader in the industry.

Woodbine Manufacturing Company was founded in 1965, in Woodbine, Iowa by Delbert “Bus” Brown. Working alone, Bus designed and constructed the original Tommy Gate Hydraulic Lift, which he named after his son.
Early stories often recount Bus loading his pickup trailer with up to five liftgates at a time and driving off into the neighboring counties (where he would sell and install them himself), only to return once that trailer was empty.
This was Woodbine Manufacturing Company in its earliest days: a grassroots liftgate manufacturer that was created to ease the work of the local farmers.
Today, the Woodbine factory stands at over 200,000 square feet on the same piece of ground where every Tommy Gate liftgate has been manufactured and assembled for over 50 years. It is a state-of-the-art manufacturing plant that embraces a combination of modern technology fused with old-fashioned, hands-on welding and tooling.
